Why Only on Eid?

On Eid morning, everyone is different. You wake up excited, put on your best clothes, and head to the masjid. As you walk in, you see smiles everywhere—brothers embracing, kids running around laughing, elders exchanging warm salaams. Even people who rarely talk throughout the year suddenly greet each other like old friends.

The atmosphere is pure joy. No one cares about past misunderstandings, no one holds grudges. We hug, we smile, we give without hesitation. It feels so natural, so beautiful. But then, the next day comes… and that warmth slowly fades.

Why does it take Eid for us to show this side of ourselves? Why don’t we greet each other with the same joy on a regular day? Imagine if we smiled at our brothers and sisters like this every morning. If we forgave and embraced each other like we do after Eid salah. If we carried that warmth into our daily lives, not just when the occasion calls for it.

Islam isn’t just about moments—it’s about consistency. Let’s not wait for the next Eid to spread love, to reconnect, to forgive. Let’s make every day an opportunity to bring that same joy into our lives and the lives of others.

May Allah keep our hearts connected, not just on Eid, but always.
