How I Started Earning More — the Halal Way
Leaving the Haram Was the Hardest Thing I Did... Until Allah Showed Me This

When I started editing for people, I didn’t know whether using music was haram or halal. Until I learned that you should study the fiqh of your job — to know what is halal and what is haram.
So when I started doing that, I found out that music is haram, whether you’re using instruments only, avoiding the “bad” songs, or trying to make excuses to make it halal by calling it soft or emotional music.
So, I quit editing with music.
And the harsh truth is… it was really hard and tough.
Because after I quit using music, I started to get more gigs and offers. And I remembered this hadith:
You will never leave something for the sake of Allah, but Allah will replace it for you with something better than it.
After that, I went through around twelve months earning £0 in my bank account — feeling sad, losing hope, and even blaming myself for entering the video editing world.
Until one day, an idea that Allah ﷻ placed in my heart changed everything.
The idea was simple: build a halal portfolio showcasing my work — to prove that I can create professional videos without using music.
So, I started creating content.
The Shift
I remember my first video was about a very unique mosque in Istanbul called Sancaklar Mosque.
I call it the Cave Mosque because it’s underground.
It was only a 10-minute drive from my house, so I went there, filmed a few shots using my Android phone, and went back home to edit a faceless video using only my voice.
The second reel was about Hagia Sophia. I remember that one did really well, especially on TikTok. It even got me a client who was okay with not using music.
Day by day, I began getting more halal client work while my Instagram was growing as well — until I eventually stopped accepting offers.
Alhamdulillah, that was a true blessing from Allah ﷻ.
The outcome of leaving the haram for His sake finally began to bear fruit.
Since then, I’ve believed even more in Allah ﷻ and in three core concepts that have completely shaped how I live now:
The Intention
The Tawakkul
The Barakah
Allah ﷻ says:
“And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].”
These three core principles are often forgotten in today’s society because everything has become hyper-materialised and measured on a dunya scale — which is completely wrong.
That’s why when I tell people that I live based on these principles, they find it hard to understand.
Most of my decisions start with relying on Allah, not myself. Because the moment I rely on myself, I fail.
And subhanAllah, the concept of intention is deeply connected to barakah — the purer the intention and the more goodness it carries, the more barakah Allah places in it.
The Turning Point: Barakah in Action
I started to notice things had no logical explanation.
I had small reach & engagement but my impact grew
The Right clients found me without marketing
That’s when I realised thaat when Allah removes Hamra from your life, He doesn’t leave you empty. Firstly He ﷻ Did that because He’s is the All Wise and The Most Merciful. Secondly He fills that space with Barakah.
A message from the heart to the heart
If you’re struggling to stay hala in your work, remember these 3 thing
1-The Test always comes before the blessing
2-Your Rizq doesn’t come from your clients
3-Be sinere, purify your intention, and rely on Him
Because when you leave something for Allah’s sake, He replaces it with something far greater — not just in wealth, but in peace.
